The Deosai National Park was established in 1993 to protect the survival of the Himalayan Brown Bear and its habitat. The tourists visiting the Deosai Plains can also look for the Himalayan Ibex, Red Fox, Golden Marmot, Gray Wolf, the Ladakh Urial, the Snow Leopard, and over 124 resident and migratory birds. Birds in the park include the Golden Eagle, Lammergeyer, Griffon Vulture, Laggar Falcon, Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Sparrow hawk and Snow cock.
Sheosar Lake with its beauty, crystal clear water and small lush green mountains surrounding is best camping spot. The camping is recommended on the north side of the lake in the big square hollow out are to prevent tents from strong heavy winds. A small walk in east will take you to Chakor pass. The adventure lovers can do surfing. The lake is filled with fish and looks beautiful in the sunny days. The tourists experience peace under the clear blue skies of Deosai.
